Any news on future models with bsm?

Blind spot monitoring is standard feature in many vehicles now a days.
I really hope MINI will implement BSM on future models.
I have the side mirrors adjusted properly but the fat B-pillar blocks the view a lot of times.

Not coming to this generation due to technical constraints, but they may add it to the next generation MINI in a few years.

Personally, I think it's a waste on a car of this size. If you're turning your head as you're supposed to and have your mirrors adjusted correctly, I can't see how you would need it, even on the Countryman. Are people just not wanting to check their blind spots with their eye *****?
