F55/F56 Anyone Order a 2017 F56?

Just have to hope the glass people do a clean job tomorrow or Thursday when they come. They are at least putting in MINI glass, so it should look original.
The big boss of the landscaping company is going to come and look at the paint damage. I am a bit worried after hearing them suggest "buffing it out" since there are 4 or 5 dings down to the primer, but we'll see. I cleaned and clayed the affected area to get a good idea of what it looks like. I think I'd give touch up and polish a go myself before having some hack "buff it out".
Thete were a lot of scratches on the seat tail where the glass crashed down on it, but I've got them touched up sufficiently.
I'm a super **** car detailing nut, so this kind of hit me in my weak spot :(

Welcome.
Yea, hopefully they dont play the " it will buff out card " and down play the car because its a MINI, had an insurance company try to stick me when my r52 was new and someone blasted the side of my car with rocks when they almost hit it. They were like " these cars dont cost that much..." that was from the insurance adjuster. Then I told them to get the quote on the repair with all Genuine MINI parts, they then changed there tune and realized the parts I had were rare and expensive. Then they tried to do it on the cheap on a brand new MINI. Of course this was the other person insurance. After my car was fixed, I took the interior fully apart and cleaned it myself as the body shop did not even come close to my level of clean.
We do have some chemical guys stuff i really like. Check it out, btw I worked at a body shop before and did all the detailing for very high end cars. I always liked the detailing side.

Good luck and I hope it comes out good.

right on the armrest
Matt-- u are absolutely correct on the armrest if you like me have a MT and even if I had an auto Tranny it'd still be a pain as the e-brake is not usable with the arm rest in the lowest setting-- Let me know what your dealer comes up with as I would love to see this piece go bye-bye

Well, I've got a new window now. Seems to fit and operate as it did. The window guy did ding the edge of my driver's side door though . I think I'm done trusting other people on this so I hit the dings with touch-up, brought them down with a light compound, and topped them with the touch-up clear. I'll hit it again lightly with compound and polish tomorrow and try to move on. Enough is enough and the "help" I've gotten has seemed to only make some things worse. I'm over being pissed/stressed about it. I'll just get it touched up to the best of my ability and get on with my life!
They were unhelpful. I solved it though. If you take a look at the tail end of this thread you can find a source for the armrest-free console and some walk-through details on replacing it:

Ordered August 9th, black JCW hardtop, most options.
Completed production 9/9/2016. It arrived at the port today in Southampton. As best as I can tell it will be picked up on 9/18/2016 by the ship Porgy (ww line), which just left Bremerhaven today (probably picking up BMWs). Arrival is scheduled in NY on Sept 28, 2016. Guessing I will have the car 5 days after that....hope there are some October incentives coming

The armrest is a total menace! I too tried in every way to order my 2017 JCW convertible without it, but to no avail. Wrote to mini, asked around dealerships... It'll have to come down to ordering that part in Europe and suck it up.
Ordered it sept 2nd and from the 5th it's been "scheduled for production". About a week now of that.
I hope to see it in early november. (I'm in southern California)
Then probably i'll order a chrome trunk handle, Michelin super sports, and the NM module and be a happy happy camper.
Third mini, after a roadster S and a regular 2015 mini cooper S hardtop.
the waiting game is so hard!!

Nice. That is a quick turnaround. If you are still in Philly area I am guessing we will be on the same boat. Looks to arrive in NY port on Sept. 28.

My F54 was awaiting transport for about 6 days. But, once it reached Southampton, Wallenius Wilhelmsen had the VIN and it was trackable. Maybe you already know, but I used this link:
https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?fra...uickSearchPage
And put my VIN in the "Cargo ID" field to see what WW knew about my car.
Supposedly, my car is at VDC currently, but this is sort of the 'dark side of the moon' phase where nobody knows what's happening until it's scheduled for delivery to the dealer.

Yes!
2 weeks exactly from ordering day my 2017 JCW convertible has been built and is now "awaiting transport".
I assume now a couple weeks of that, and then another month to get to southern california.
Anyone ordered one this year here and knows how long it took from getting on the ship to the dealership?
Thanks a lot!
