If you look at the picture of the euro one, you can see the cable dangling below it plugging in under the bumper for the lights. I circled it

Yes. Found the US info after some digging. Looks like its not out yet. In the past many times the MINI factory US rear bike racks did not look like the euro ones. But we will not truly know till it come out or released.

Sweet, thanks for the info! On the CM I had to run a wiring harness for my trailer. While I don't think I'll be trailering with Erik, it's nice to know that's there.

Any venders offer OEM bike rack (82722285994) less than $500?
There are couple of items listed on eBay, one mentioned "Photo shows rack with lights, that is the European version, rack for U.S.A market does not have lights".
My MCS has the bike rack prep, thus functional tail / brake lights are essential, hence the question.
