Hi All,

In the USA, the spare tire comes standard on the base model and is deleted from the S due to the center exhaust.

I really wanted the spare, but my MA told me that upon ordering the mini yours rims with the run flat tires, that the spare was eliminated. I have done some research and there is documentation that supports this.

When I went on the BMW vin decoder: http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html

and put in my vin, it shows up with:

S300A
Zentralverr. m. Diebstahlsicherg. Emergency spare wheel

S5DDA
Wagenheber Jack

Which seems to go against what I have been told/read. I would be enthralled to have the spare tire. While I know it is a stand alone option no matter what in Europe, I have been told it is only standard on ultra base models with the 15" rims in the US (since those are the only ones without run flats). Any thoughts?

Trust the decoder.

I was able to get the spare, even in Canada, and with the runflats, but it took a lot of begging.

I have a spare on my Justa, but I also ordered 16" wheels. Not sure if that makes a difference. I too would trust the decoder...OR, call another dealer and ask!!!!

I have a Justa with 17" Cosmos wheels and runflats. Spare wheel found to be included upon looking closely under the rear bumper (actually had removed the rear bumper cover to install a bracket on the bumper).

Nice! I had one on my 2006 base and it was great- actually came in handy. When I asked the dealer they said that it would be deleted with runflats, and I begged them to ask the factory to include it. Looks like it was included anyway!
