F55/F56 A Quick Tip When Taking Delivery
A Quick Tip When Taking Delivery
Check your rear window washer to make sure it works properly (story below)!
I drove back to the dealer yesterday to pick up some additional paperwork and drop off the other key to my trade-in...noticed my rear window was dirty while on the highway, so I tried to wash it using the wiper stalk, and no fluid came out
I tried again and again, and nothing (I couldn't possibly be out washer fluid already!). When I got there, I talked with my MA about it and she had the service guy refill my fluid. Still didn't work. She told me I would have to bring in the car for service, which made me
since it doesn't even have 600 mi on it. However, I agree I could have worse problems.
After I left the dealership, I decided to fill up with gas and try the rear window washer one more time. Lo and behold it worked!
So I'm guessing that the system wasn't fully pressurized, had air in it, or something was clogging it. So glad I tried again and didn't just bring it back to MINI, where I'm sure they would've started ripping panels off the hatch...
So I guess my advice to everyone here is, check EVERYTHING before you drive the car home, and if it's a minor problem like this, don't immediately give up and let the dealer get their hands all over your car (which could bring more issues later). Sometimes these things have a way of working themselves out
Just wanted to share. Happy Friday everyone!

Well glad you were able to fix the issue yourself. It's definitely not something someone thinks to check when they pick up their new car that's for sure.
