F55/F56 Recall notice for right and left interior side panels.
Recall notice for right and left interior side panels.
Seems there was a problem with side impact performance. It says" BMW AG has decided that certain model year 2014 Mini Cooper Hardtop 2 door vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 214 (side impact protection)".. But then says, "Due to the specific configuration of your vehicle, it may marginally exceed a NHTSA test requirement. As a result, rear seat passengers could be at a slightly higher risk of injury in a severe side impact". That makes no sense.
The repair will take 4 hours. And then says "we are not ready to conduct this recall". They'll let us know when they are ready.

Less than a percent
"On October 6, the NHTSA ran a compliance test on several MINIs and they failed to comply with FMVSS 214, exceeding the maximum T12 acceleration value of 82g by 0.17g."
Ran across this article. I don't know what the effect is by the test misses compliance by 0.2 percent.
I'm not going to miss any sleep over this.
