Probably old news to you 3rd Gen owners out there. But, the 1.5 liter 3 cyl. base engine won a spot on Wards 10 Best Engines for 2015.
The current Roundel issue has an article on page 34 about it.
"Demonstrates that a base engine can totally sell a vehicle."

 

Lets all bow our heads and remember how the N14 and N18 "won awards" also..

 

I was going to post something along those lines with the added part about industries patting themselves on the back but I didn't want to be a party pooper.

 

Hey, I never said they were unbiased.....

 

I continually see members putting the N14 and N18 engines in the same category of problem history. I still have not seen an N18 owner with any of the problems of the N14.

 

I'm not surprised. The triple is a great little engine with power and economy. I drive it in sport mode and get no less than 33mpg combined highway and city.
