F55/F56 automatic transmission problem
automatic transmission problem
I have a 2015 Thunder Grey with black roof and love driving it, everthough it is automatic. Last night while driving on the street a sudden massive bump occurred and I thought the car had stalled. The centre display read that the auto stop/ start switch is now off and that I should "consult my service Representitive". The car then went on and functioned normally. So this morning I visited my dealer and he said it sounded like the car put itself in PARK automatically and they would check it out today. So I am driving a freebe for now. Apparently he knows of another case of this happening. I can tell you it a big event and makes you jump.
Does anyone else know of any cases like this? And what caused it?

Had something similar happen, luckily just once. We had just finished filling up at a gas station and pulled back out onto the street. Accelerating up to speed the 1-2 shift felt like we were rear ended by a dump truck. EXTREMELY hard shift followed by warning messages like you mentioned. Next time car was started no messages and have not had a repeat of the problem yet, car runs fine. Not sure what caused it but it sure got my attention.
Doug.. your dealer can read your key and see the warning message. You should have this registered with your dealer at the very least. The dealer is not able to determine the cause, so I hope that doesn't happen again.
Maybe I'm experiencing similar thing as you guys. I didn't get any error messages though. I posted my experience just couple minutes ago. Would the dealer be able to do anything?
the Dealer had my car all day and could not figure out the problem even with the error message. he did mention that another owner, not from the area, had stopped in and had described a situation similiar to this. He described it as if the car had put itself in park while rolling.
