F55/F56 2015 MCS back from The Custom Shop in Astoria (NY)
Which Eibachs did you install? Can you share a link? Looks great!
-Jorge
I had a new Quicksilver exhaust installed last week. Purchased from Way Motor Works - thanks Way for your very quick shipping and great customer service!!
This is a standard, I guess you might call it passive, exhaust (no trick valves). It is a lot lighter than the standard exhaust and sounds great - especially in sport mode. I'm amazed how quiet the standard exhaust was!!
Before:

Exhaust:

Fitted (I think it might need raising a little to be flush with the bodywork):

I know what you mean - even the std MCS exhaust also sits a little to the side. Some of it is an optical illusion as I asked the shop to raise the exhaust a little. It looks better than in pics!
Are the Eibach Pro-kit designed to work with the stock shocks in terms of the spring rates? Or will you have to replace the shocks soon if they can't keep up with the stiffer springs? It's the kind of moderate drop I'm looking for, and I want to keep the nice ride quality - not planning on doing any track days anytime soon. Thanks.
the car is looking real clean and classy btw...

I believe the springs are designed for the OEM shocks. My car has the optional sports suspension so not sure if that includes stiffer shocks as std. The ride quality has actually improved over standard sports suspension. I'm not really one for track days - all the gear, no idea
Thanks!

And the factory optional sport suspension does include stiffer springs and shocks. I would bet the sport shocks will be fine with oem shocks for quite a while.
Thanks!

First, What a great car looking car you have. Really tastefully done.
I definitely want this grill treatment done to mine after we order it.
So am I to understand that the body/paint shop guys said they could have removed the grill pieces from your car and painted and replaced them them without any problems? That is very good news if that's the case.
I am also in love with the wheels on your car.
How is the ride with the 18's? Do have the dampeners on your car? I was spec'ing ours out with those wheels for the appearance, but have rethought that choice as most say the 18 inch wheels and low profile tires are punishing.
The stock suspension on the MCS is almost too rough a ride for my liking w/ the 16 inch tire (which we test drove). I thought w/ the 17's and the dampeners added it should put the ride just about where I'd want it. However, they offer no machine faced wheel (like yours) in 17" for the MCS.
Again, beautiful car. well done, and Cheerio.
I bought the grill (the part with the S on it) and that comes complete with the chrome strip. I then sent it to the custom shop who separated the chrome strip and then sent it off to be painted. It seems in the end they were able to change the chrome around the whole grill and this strip without taking the front of the car off. Hope that info helps - happy to answer any other questions. Have to thank this and the F56 forum in the UK and Germany for all the inspiration!

Thank-you! The only danger with keeping the original grill and using that is that there are a lot of clips. The price of the original chrome pieces were quite low so I just found it easier to have them painted and replaced. Also gives me the option of returning the car to total stock at the end of my lease.
Ride with 18s is honestly not that bad - OEM for mine was the sports suspension. I think on previous generations of minis this would have been difficult to live with - especially with RFT. However, I found the suspension fine. It's no limo, but that's not the point of the car. It's a little more supple after lowering and I'm very happy to say the wheels and tyres are very strong as I've introduced them to some awful pot holes in and around NY.
On the 17/18 debate I would say test drive a car on 18s and see what you think. I don't regret mine - on a good quality road it's fun to drive and perfectly comfortable.
Thanks much for the reply. I'm still in the final configuring stage of building our Mini. Have to say this forum has been extremely helpful in guiding me through the process. My next hurdle will be dealing with sales w/ their true car pricing and trying to get a decent $ trade for our 2014 Santa Fe w/ 7K miles.

I pretty much know what I want as far a major items and upgrades, more into the final detailing the car out for appearance sake.
I was only considering having the center cross piece painted red as the chrome surround looks fine to my eye. I'm trying to get the JCW look without paying the $3K+ extra for the JCW model for the things I really do not need.
I had thought that a paint shop could mask off the car grill and shoot the small cross piece in red for a reasonable $ amount. Since I'm buying the car (rather than leasing), going back to stock is not an issue.
On the plus side, I am having fun with the Mini configuator and getting enlightened by the membership here.

Should have the product within a few days and will get pictures posted.
Thanks for your feedback.
