Replace a single tire or get new ones...

i need to replace one of the tires on my MCS due to a nail going through it along the corner of the sidewall. seeing as this is my first mini as well as my first car with run-flats, i don't know what to do. i've read on this forum that many of you (majority?) do NOT like the run-flats and plan to get rid of them in a moments notice.

while the ride is rough, i'm certainly not hating life. i'm only replacing 1 of the tires. would you

a) replace the one tire.
b) swap out all the tires for non-run flats.

the understanding is that the tire itself is not of bad quality but a regular tire vs. run-flat will provide a softer ride.

thoughts and input appreciated. Thanks all.

Marco

P.S. if anyone already swapped out their tires and wants to get rid of ONE, while a longshot, please PM me!

If you don't mind the runflats buy 1 tire. If you want to change this would be a good time.

I would replace just the 1 tire....Then, run them all till they need replacing, and then go for the non-runflats. At 5K miles, the other three tires still have PLENTY of life in them, way too much to dump.

thanks. agreed and was leaning towards that....but also wanted to see if someone said "sh*t, get new ones and don't look back".

definitely feels like the more affordable approach.

thanks.

It depends on what the price of the run flat is.
If it is like $300 installed, i would get a new set of 4 that is not run flat.
Michelin super sports could be have for about $600
