I've had the MCS for about 2 months. Manual transmission. For the first time, I noticed that, if I move the shifter slowly from neutral to the left or right, I feel a very slight ratcheting. Not completely smooth. Is that normal?

 

Totally normal.

 

It's a cable-shift transmission. So what you're feeling is the metal braided cables rubbing on the inside of the cable sheath. Common in cable-shift transmissions.
