F55/F56 Velcro on seat belt?

Does anyone know why both front seat belt buckles on my new F56, are wrapped in Velcro? (the soft portion)... My son just asked me this morning and I said "you know what? I don't know why" so I put this question to everyone here.. Why?

LOL! I was wondering this a few weeks ago. Owned my MINI for almost 2 years and never noticed it.
Apparently it is so it doesn't get scratched or scratch other interior pieces.. I guess. MINI has been doing this since Gen1.

Yea, its for scratching and rubbing. Noise also, vibrating.
