Issue - weak ac

Just curious if anyone else is noticing a weak ac during hot days? High 90's F.

The wife mentioned it yesterday but I haven't witnessed yet. Will find out tomorrow on our drive.

She compared it weak against a 2005 scion xb ac. Pushing warm or slightly cool air.

I haven't had my ac on all year. Michigan's summer this year feels more like spring.

I have had the A/C on in 36C (97F) days, and it's cool/cold. I suspect there is something amiss with yours; have it checked out.

Thanks tuco44. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Shipm8 - remove your ac. Should free up 27lbs. Give you +2hp and maybe just maybe +1 mpg.

Here in the hot and humid St. Petersburg/Tampa area, 93° is no problem at all for the basic A/C in my MCS.

Mine works fine in Houston. I have the auto climate control. There are several different ways to set it up. You might read up on that.

I definitely had to figure out the air distribution options before I got it dialed in to the upper vents only. It felt like an asthmatic child was breathing on me rather than a moderate / full on blast like in other cars.

Though, since I'm on green mode mostly all the time, I have noticed the force of the AC to be lower than desired (even at halfway between MIN and MAX), but that's to be expected in GREEN, I suppose. Though I still wonder if MINI lowered the level of force on the fans, as if you're on 1 or 2 bars, it's barely noticeable.

I run mid mode most of the time. I have not dialed into air flow just from the dash vents. Thought it was interesting that in AC Auto mode it has a little air going to your feet. Seems to be fine though. I normally have the fan at about mid setting. Kick it into max for a few minutes at start-up but it doesn't take long to cool and then switch to auto. I've been running the temp setting at 68 or 70F.

As much as I think that less is more, I think I'll leave it in...just in case it ever warms up enough to use it. Good luck with the heat and ac.

I notice weak A/C in Green mode. Maybe there is a reason for this to save fuel but it seems the air flow is lot lower.

When in Mid mode on a hot day and I need more A/C, I'll direct all air to come through the main vents on dash. I have noticed in Auto A/C, the car directs air to floor, front vents, and the center dash vent which distributes the air more.

For the auto climate control there is a button they call maximum cooling "max ac".

I noticed it does seem weak. If i'm starting the car after it's been out in the heat, I'm forced to turn on max A/C. My previous car with auto climate (08 Accord) felt much stronger, I never needed to turn on max a/c in that car.

The max AC sets the temperature down to 60F and fan to max. When the car cools down, hit auto the the temp goes back to your previous setting. That cools the car faster. The F56 auto control is suppose to switch between recirc and outside air automatically to keep the air fresh or cut out outside odors. This will impact cooling also.
