Stud Conversion for F56 Cooper S - Questions

Hi folks,

I think I am going to run a stud conversion on my car to aid better fitment of my Speedline wheels which need ball seat bolts or nuts - there is simply not a singe manufacture of M14x1.25 ball seat bolts!!!!

So - enter the need for a stud conversion!

I have seen the Way Motor Works studs here: http://www.waymotorworks.com/m14-to-...ountryman.html

They seem pretty decent, and should enable me to find some M12 x 1.5 ball seat tuner nuts.

It says 52mm will be protruding from the hub - does that mean only open nuts can be used for these studs OR would a set of closed nuts be able to be used too?

Thanks

On determing whether open nuts or closed-end nuts will work, you'll need to measure the mounting pad of your wheels and determine how much of that 52mm the wheels will take up.

52mm sounds like a lot of stud to me.

Has anybody put on these studs on the stock wheels? I don't like working with the bolts even with a wheel pin or 2 and a lot of maintenance tasks requires the wheels off.

I was thinking of these: http://new.minimania.com/part/G2NMW4...-Kit-M14-X-125

I have a 2015 MCS with the stock 16 inch loop wheels.

I put a set of the Way studs on one wheel of my 2014 F56S and took them right back off before I even torqued them down. They do stick out from the wheel considerably and I don't believe there's a closed-end nut out there that would be long enough to work with these. I'm not sure why there aren't sets in various lengths such that you could use a closed-end nut with a particular wheel set-up. If you find one, please let the list know. I'm a customer for such and I bet there are others that would prefer studs with out the Frankenstein look!

Cheers
