The rear bumper works

Was struck by a glancing blow at an intersection. It's on the other guys insurance, but still not yet 1000 miles and the new has now worn off.

See now if you had gone with Volcano Orange, there is no way he could have missed it. Seriously though, that is awful. Glad the damage was minimal and hopefully the battle wounds are healed soon.

Bummer. Looks like he at least avoided the fog light. Good luck with the fix.

Did you do the same to his face?

Not that I'm advocating violence, but, you know, maybe just a "glancing blow?"

No, of course not. I'm a civilized person, and it wasn't like the guy did it deliberately. Just a minor scrape.

DW. Will be interesting to see how well they can match the new paint. As I have the same color I am aware how many marks are on mine already with less than 1000miles.
The Grey is really like Black IMO.
Keep us posted...
You are not alone my son was guiding me out of our narrow drive past my wifes car and told me to turn and my passenger side black rim scraped along the jagged 4" high concrete wall! I ordered a new wheel!

I almost had a "glancing blow" yesterday....I'm driving on a two lane road 45 mph, the left lane is closed ahead for mowers, I slow down since traffic is stopping in front of me....I hear a noise, look in my rear view mirror and see a semi truck emerging from the smoke of his tires locked up, his trailer sideways hitting trees in the emergency lane....

I down shifted and stomped it to the floor speeding away in the emergency lane....that coulda hurt

Strong Mini

I really hear that Mini's are built like a tank. Which is good. I have been rear ended in other cars so many times I put the Super Bumper on my S Coupe! Yes, they make them for cars but this one is for Pick Up trucks - hard to miss. I used a Mini Fini hitch.

I am always amazed at how something so small in terms of damage can cost so much to fix. Just one little bump can equal $2K. Fortunately the other guys insurance will cover but still it is a hassle to fix and time off work.

Just Google Super Bumper to see all the options.

And yes, I am sure you all think I am crazy. My new Toyota Pickup with 1,200 miles was totaled by a drunk. Left the scene and walked to the trailer park. Police did nothing and let his girl friend come back and take the car that hit me. No drunk driving violation. No jail time. So now I run with Dash Cams front and back recording everything too. Oh yeah, he was on a beer run to the gas station when he t-boned me.

Go Pro

I love to watch what people can capture on Go Pro cameras. Just amazing.

But for Dash Cams check out www.blackboxmycar.com they are easy to install with amazing videos that you can easily download to your device via Wifi. Install was easy as the videos show and nothing to remove from car.

I like the options such as dash cam or hidden radar. No having to put up and take down accessories every time I park. The radar is the passport 8500CI. Another easy install and damn impossible to steal.

Running cables is easy with a credit card around glass or center console but Blackbox videos shows you how to do a professional install.

Best of all, driving a Mini.

This was my experience last Sunday in the Throgs neck bridge in Queens. All her fault because she "didn't see me". I only had 1400 miles. No one hurt thankfully. Gives new meaning to broken in.

Ohhhh that is so terrible. I travel to NY often. Not taking my Mini near Cross Bronx, Throgs Neck,GW, etc. I'll drive something else...those roads are the absolute worst. So sorry this happened.

I was on my way to JFK Airport early Sunday morning with practically no one on the road on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. I was in the far right lane ready to exit. She was going to miss the exit and just slid right over without a thought. It appears to be all cosmetic and the car was still driving fine.

Even still, with 1400 miles on your car ... I would be sick. Regardless that it can be fixed, people just don't give a **** !

Sick doesn't even come close to how I felt, it's taken me a week to even post something on here. But my mind keeps coming back to the fact that no one was hurt and this can and is being repaired. I plan on driving this vehicle as if it's a motorcycle from now on and assume it's not visible to others.

Lol....it's Murphy's law...just like when you park as far away from every other car in a lot..and sure enough, when you come back some idiot is parked inches away!
Im sure it'll be as good as new. When are you getting it fixed up?
On a side note.. Whe I had the Maranello..same thing happened to me. A jerk in a truck cut me off and took off my drivers side mirror...needless to say, that made me sick.

Until I got hit my biggest concern were the potholes. There was one on the upper level GWB that seemed like it could swallow my car!

I dont have one single memory of any of those roads NOT being worked on. The problem is, nothing ever gets fixed!

Did your car go in for the repairs yet?

^He he...but seriously, potholes are crazy frequent on Tristate roads, I bent all 4 wheels on my VW GLI in less than a year here in NYC. But yeah, there was probably nothing you could've done to avoid that accident - the thing I try and do is stay out of people's blind spots as much as I can - it's almost like riding a motorcycle - you have to engage all your senses, your brain and eyes have to scan the road ahead and all the things around you to be able to react the best way possible should the need arise. Good luck with the repair, it's really a shame for such a nice new car to get damaged like that but at least nobody got hurt.
