Upcoming Mini exhaust upgrade?

Swung by Bob Smith Mini in LA today. Asked a salesman a suspension-related question and his response was: "Hmmm...I, uh, I dunno....hey, you know Mini's gonna be coming out with a new upgraded exhaust package? My buddy told me. They haven't announced it yet. It's like $1900 bucks."

No idea why he volunteered that info, but there you have it.

I know the current muffler takes up a lot more space under the car, making it impossible to integrate a working diffuser like on the GP2.

Did your MA happen to mention if the package was only applicable to the MCS? I'm thinking I may eventually want a throatier sound from my Justa.

He did not specify.

For what it's worth, I can't wait to see what the aftermarket world does with that 3. I think it has potential to sound mean.

I predict a cult following of the Cooper-Lite. (Decided not to call it a Justa as there is precious little "Justa" about it with the myriad of options it can be specced with and aftermarket potential of a turbo.)
Hallelujah !

$1,900. for an exhaust upgrade is very steep. IMO you're better off just waiting for the aftermarket to develop exhaust options.
