Picture update! I got back from San Antonio before dark with enough time to give RahXephon his first bath. I have now clocked over 600 miles in 6 days which is actually not out of the ordinary. I average about 100 miles per day usually. Now on to the pics (sorry, just crappy iphone pics)

That really is a fantastic color, especially in that light. So jealous of your radar detector, too. I just HAD to move from TX to the one state where they're illegal...

So the pictures do a bad job of showing the color. It definitely looks more like a pearl white or light silver in person. In the pics with the sun on it, it actually looks like pepper white almost and it's very different in person. And I'm from VA so I know, been there, ticketed for that...I'll be getting a new radar detector before I move back to VA for 6 months for training that's invisible to the detector detecors.

Surprised you didn't go with the black headliner.

Now we just need black reflectors to substitute for the red and orange wheel well reflectors.

Last is there a radar detector hardwire DIY yet?

Yeah, I was on the fence about the headliner but I like the lighter color. It seems to make the interior feel more spacious.

I do want to ditch the reflectors, not sure what course of action yet...

and I'm sure you could find a diy for an earlier model, it shouldn't be any different than tapping into the dome light fixture on an R56 I'd guess. I never hard wire my cars because I like to swap it from car to car. I keep stealing (I mean borrowing) my wife's so 2 of my 3 cars have one and hers doesn't. She doesn't like it too much

as it stands only mods are:

-30% ceramic tint
-debadged
-airbag warning labels removed

my top 2 priorities are tires and tune but we'll see. I need to sell a set of wheels in my garage before I can pounce on that...

Well folks, I had a little run in with a deer so I figured why not be patient and replace the bumper cover with the JCW bumper...

and back to waiting...

I expect to get my car back around mid October if the new bumper doesn't get delayed. I'll definitely get some pics posted as I expect it will be one of the first F56S's to get the JCW bumper mounted.

sucks to hear about the deer, but I'm sure the car will look better than ever once you get it back! Hope they have it for you soon.

well I finally took my Mini on a REAL drive after over 4k miles. These are my impressions. (yes, they are biased)

-the runflats are garbage (we already knew this)
-the gears are shorter than my Pcar. (I needed 2nd-4th as opposed to just 2nd and 3rd on my secret route)
-I have NO idea how to drive a FWD auto with paddles fast. (I'm only used to rwd/awd and manual tranny)
-the car took a good flogging, constant boost, and constant high revs without skipping a beat.
-I missed my Pcar the whole time, however, I bought this car to be a fun daily and it is definitely that! so still no regrets.

I also did a 60 roll against my friends stock Focus ST and with him getting the jump he was about 3 CL ahead at 100.

So i took my car to my local track today and had a blast in it. The runflats were well past their limits and the brakes were faded by the 3rd lap. Even fighting the tires and brakes i still had a blast flogging the car. I was near the redline for 30 minutes straight. I literally burned a half tank of gas in 30 minutes lol. I can't wait to see how it holds up with proper tires and at least some better pads and RBF600

So i started fabbing up a rear seat delete. The seat and seatbelt assemblies weigh just shy of 40lbs total in case anyone is curious. Also, I finally got around to giving her a wash after doing my CQuartz semi-permanent coating and i' happy with the results. Washing is super easy now.

Tell me more about your experience with CQuartz... and what radar you're planning to move to. I use V1

well I applied it a few weeks ago washed it after it got dirty and I was very pleased with the result. I can't comment on longevity yet but if I can get 2 years out of it I'll be a happy camper.

Also, referring to radar detector I don't plan on changing out anytime soon unless I go back to VA for while. I have an escort 9500IX in the MINI and in the Porsche and they keep me out of trouble almost daily as I drive about 100 miles a day.

Your local track must be COTA, or is there another one near Austin? On the TT, what drivetrain loss do you calculate on the dyno?
