door entry lights

I don't know if that's the official name of them but I'm talking about the lights under the door that shine on the ground when you open it up.

I saw a pic somewhere of someone with the mini logo...so after some looking around I found a set on ebay for 9$ shipped from china, figured even if they don't work I haven't lost anything.

They work perfect (almost) the only thing is (and it unintentionally works great) that the lights come with pins, the pins are too big to fit into the stock plug, however, if you go in from the back side they fit tight and work perfectly. no need to modify anything.

what do you think?

ok its weird, here's the link from my ebay, I'm not sure if it'll work though.

the seller is "ledworld2010"

I've searched his store and can't find them under the listed name.

Those look great! would you mind taking a pic of the underside of the door with em installed and if you feel like going a bit further a pic of the harness as you described going in from the back end ( I certainly understand though if you have em in and perfect and done want to remove them again )

Awesome!

And yes, for the mechanically-stupid, like myself, some explanation of how this is installed would be VERY much appreciated

its a very easy install (even for those not so inclined). the first pic shows you what you get x2. pic 2 shows the wires plugged into the back of the connector (red to red, black to black), pic 3 is it installed.

get a little screwdriver or a pocket knife to pry down one side of the stock light, it just pops in there nothing fancy. then pull the plug out of it, push the wires into the back side of the plug matching the colors, then slip it back in.

you can adjust the image by rotating the black light casing, I put it in and out a few times until I had it lined up with the door the way I wanted it.

There are a bunch of people selling them on Ebay, for whatever reason I couldn't find anymore from the vendor I bought from, however look up his name LEDworld2010 on ebay and you can probably send a message to see if he has more. I paid $9.15 US shipped to my door. took a couple weeks as it's coming from china but so far worth every penny.

its just as bright but because its only illuminating the circle and the logo it doesn't seem as bright. (due to dark areas) If you dropped your keys, you'll be able to find them. hope that's helpful

I just ordered a set

Hehe, I like their reminder "if you want this for four doors you must buy two".

I saw these on an Abarth last night and really liked it. I think I'll join the bandwagon on this one. It's such a simple thing but adds that extra character to a small car like the Abarth or Mini.

When I got my 2007 there were vendors selling a whole set of brighter LED lights by the set for the doors, glovebox, boot, maps, and center roof. Everything but the mood lights, all the clear lights.

I installed mine last week. They look great. I wish there was a way to custom order them with my graphic or logo.
