F56 - not a convert yet BUT...

I was at the dealers for some work on my car. I looked at about 20 new F56's on their lot.

Just opinions, nothing more...

Cons:
Colors and some styling i don't like
  1. volcanic orange looks like the old U.S. Army yellow that we painted everything (that we didn't paint Olive Drab).
  2. The blue is just too understated (just has no soul, especially considering all of the beautiful blues that MINI had had over the years).
  3. White Sliver is OK.
  4. Thunder gray is nice but then i'm partial to it.
  5. I haven't yet seen the Red in person but it looks nice on the web.
  6. Taillights look too big and the front overhang looks too long. I know i will get used to both of these.

BUT
Pros:
Our next MINI will be an automatic for my wife. And the F56 will be the perfect car for her. She can drive manual but prefers not to. The new F56 has so many nice creature comforts inside. It has become more like the BMW. These creature comforts will only get better over the years so in about 2-3 years when we are ready to buy, the car will be perfect. And maybe they will have a better blue by then...
