Anyone that has applied paint protective film have any experience with the film covering hood stripes? Any issue with getting the film to adhere between the paint and stripe surface?
Xpel is the only vendor I've located that has pre-cut pieces for the front fascia.
anyone have experience with this? I have hood stripes and would like to go over the top of them. Protects them too, if this is possible.

Mine has the two white factory applied stripes on the hood. I watched my Xpel installer position the film on the hood, then ever so slightly lift and score the film (freehand) along the edges of the stripes w/ a new and very sharp blade. He didn't cut completely thru the film. He said it would allow the film to fit better at the edges of the stripe and it did. Remember, there are four stripe edges he need to get exactly right, and he did. IMHO it was an amazing display of skill. The rear view mirror cover was another difficult area.
Its easy to install the film on flat or uniformly curved surfaces. Anyone reasonably good w/ their hands can do it. The complex curves/shapes are a different story and take a trained skilled installer.
I haven't used any, but I think that 90% of the rock dings in the paint happen below the level of the upper headlight rim. Don't go up any higher than that with the film. Mine are at/below the lower rim of my headlights.
Two of the most prominent marks I have on the hood of my 2019 F57 are closer to the windshield. The rocks damaged the film a bit, but the paint is unharmed. If you're going to spend the money for PPF, just cover the full hood. You won't regret it.
