To me, it looked higher and more forward, compared to the 2013 on the lot. I didn't sit with it, but simply looked at it for comparison. If that helps.
Sounds like I'll be raising the seat and/or tilting the armrest down and/or just learning to deal with it.
So it's been about six weeks since selling my R56 with the F56 ordered. Out of town for work, and fighting withdrawal, went to the local Mini dealer today.
I'm pretty sure that if I raise the seat and put the armrest as low as it can go tilt wise, it will be ok. Still wish it was as low as it was in the R56, but after tilting it up all the way, I personally would not be happy with no armrest.
I thought about asking for a test drive, but just sitting in a couple of F56 cars helped a lot.
It's fine! The armrest has several positions, and at least for me, it's a complete non-issue. Zero learning curve, and I'm glad MINI has a proper armrest now.

My Audi TT didn't have an arm rest, and the Honda CR-z before that also didn't. I'm so happy Toaster has one. Yes, it can get in the way sometimes, but those times are few and far between as I'm getting used to the car's ins and outs.
