Just got this email from MiniUsa:

Thanks for writing to MINI. A PDF version of the 2014 MINI Cooper Hardtop owner's manual is not yet available. I apologize for any disappointment this may cause.

For a hard copy of your MINI's manual, I would suggest speaking with the parts team at your local MINI dealer. I know that they would be glad to help you obtain a copy. Should you need it, a list of our authorized MINI dealers can be found on our website at: www.MINIUSA.com, under “Find a MINI dealer.”

The MINI Customer Relations and Services Department is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., ET. You can reach us at 1.866.ASK.MINI (275-6464).

Well I just got this that said you CAN download a PDF....hahaha

For a hard copy of your MINI's manual, I would suggest speaking with the parts team at your local MINI dealer. I know that they would be glad to help you obtain a copy. If you'd like to download a PDF copy of the manual, PDF copies are available in the "Your MINI" section of the Owners' Lounge. If you are not signed up for the Owners' Lounge, you can create an account using your VIN.

Yeah I got the same form letter reply. They are just rubber stamping all requests for the manual. I do like mini but there are a number of things like this that simply is ridiculous.

The real absurdity here is the fact that the printed manual is most likely sourced from Adobe Acrobat, therefore a .pdf version existed before the print version. This just seems like complete nonsense.

In a day or two respond to their form letter reply and ask if there's a date the PDF can be expected. I'd much prefer to read the manual on my iPad than on the MINI's screen or the paper version.

You could Tweet them too. @MINIUSA

Ditto on the form letter.

A question for anyone that's taken delivery of their F56 - How many pages to the paper manual? Even after I take delivery here in a week or so it would be nice to pop the manual open on my PC or phone to read. I'm trying to gauge how big a task it would be to scan it.

What if you get a MINI with a regular radio? Looks like it would be hard to look at the manual on it.

If that's true about no paper manual then it just further supports the theory that the PDF copy has to exist already. I mean what did they use to get it on the screen?

And I didn't get Mini-Connected in my car, so what? I have no manual? Something smells here.

Rest easy, guys, you'll get your Owner's Manual. It's 231 pages in length for the S HT.

Your packet will also include: Service & Warranty Info. book, Tire Manufacturers' Warranty Guide, Mini Safety Tips, and a Sirius XM Satellite Radio booklet. The latter may have been in mine because I have the HK Sound System?

I was a dummy and didn't order Sirius XM from the factory. Because of VERY limited local radio options, I'm now planning on adding that as a dealer-installed package (unfortunately, not available for at least another couple of weeks).

I looked at a paper manual in the cars I test drove. Most likely it is available in the digital display if your car is so equipped. Reading a manual on the non-connected 4 line display would be nonsense.

Why satellite radio? They want 19.2x what I would be willing to pay.

I can recommend some great podcasts.

I have SiriusXM on my 2010 VW CC and mainly listen to BBC, CBC, CNBC, CNN, etc. The music selection is also okay. Wouldn't be without it now. You get a year's subscription w/ the MINI.

The satellite tuner seems to be a $450 option in Canada.

I would feel disgusted knowing that their hardware is in my car, that some fraction of a penny went to them. Makes you want to rip the radio out.

Uhh... and those with the base stereo can read their manual on the 4 line radio display, with a LOT of scrolling.
