So, 2015 cooper s f56. I have had this one for a bit now. P1290 " cold start turbocharge/supercharger wastegate solenoid stop not learned"

On the dash it stats the car is drivable. There definitely is a issue with the boost as it is lacking it, it doesn't have the quickness and once it hits 80 and slow to go faster, due to boost i assume.

Now the wastegate actuator, seems to be easy enough to get to and replace. the solenoid, i have not been able to find a video at the moment. Anyone know where the wastegate solenoid is? the solenoid seems to have a few airlines connected to it and more recently I did get a p0456 evap leak, very small leak. this one showed up more recently where as the p1290 i have had for over 1 year LOL opps

I will add, the car idles fine, no issues at all idling, no issues starting up. I cant tell there is a boost issue but the car runs fine otherwise.

 

has no one had this code? no one replaced the wastegate solenoid?

 

So, from what i have foudn is the f56 only uses the electronic wastegate and not a vacuum powered one. I guess the code mentioned solenoid is throwing me off. I'll take it apart tomorrow and go from there!
