Fuel Control Module Issues
Fuel Control Module Issues
2018 Countryman (F60) had symptoms of a bad fuel control module. Died, hard to restart, rough when it did, until it would not start at all. Symptoms and codes pointed to the Fuel Control Module. Primary code was low voltage to fuel pump. There were others, but they were down stream, such as low fuel delivery pressure, etc.
Replaced the module, which is under the back seat, for anyone interested. The scant information I have been able to find is that the module needs to be coded to the car. Once replace, the car started right up, and runs fine - generally. It has stalled a couple times, but started right back up. Pretty much confirming the module was the culprit. The scant information I was able to find is that the module needs to be coded to the car. This makes sense, as the same part needs to be coded to BMW.
The issue I am having is I can't get it coded. I have used both E-Sys and ISTA and the module is simply not found. It appears all the other modules, such as SAS, ECM, EPS are all found, but EKPS (or EKPM) is not found. It is just not on the list of onboard modules.
Has anyone gone through this procedure, or anyone else that can help out here? Is the EKPS found under a different module, such as BDC?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
