I'm still having the issue. My wife also said it stalled on her a couple of times. Glad it's not just me, but sounds like MINI has no idea what's causing this either.

I have an appointment Friday for them to look at it, but since there's probably no codes thrown, they won't have a clue, and it won't happen to them when they look at it since it's so random.

 

Whitey, did the tune solve your stalling issue?

 

Haven't even thought about it since adding the tune. I'll be making a couple of 140 mile round trips Wednesday and Friday so if it still hasn't done it I'm gonna say MY problem is cured.

Dealer still has my car and is trying to reproduce the problem... The Cooper Clubman All4 loaner is nice, but I hate these 8 speed automatics!

 

Artoo is back. They said it was getting overboost errors right before the shutdown. They fixed a connector... We'll see if that takes care of the issue.

 

My car stalled for the first time yesterday while cruising in 2nd gear (no clutch involvement). Car bucks "about to stall" once on every drive in either Sport or Mid Mode while cruising (haven't tried Green Mode) after the clutch is fully released, not operator error. Same: gas station (Shell), 93 octane, same pump, one click no top off. Car has 1800mi. Haven't gone to dealer yet.

 

I'm curious what your dealer said in regards to your car stalling after the software update? What was the fix? I've only spoken to my dealer on the phone about the issue and he said he hasn't heard of this happening before. I find that a little hard to believe after reading so many comments about it on this forum. It doesn't thrill me to have to pay thousands of dollars for dealer to find out what's wrong and fix it when it could be a result of the free update.

 

Car stalled 2nd time while on the highway. Brought to nearest dealer, they said might be a gas issue but can't work on it due to the Dinan Chip. So I have to bring it to the dealer I purchased it from (Pro Dinan dealer).

Dealer had installed the chip for the type "S", they replaced with the correct JCW chip. We'll see how it goes.
