Bad o2 sensor at 33,500 miles?

Hey, NAM!

I've been stalking this forum for a long time and I've finally made an account, but I'm afraid my first post will be about something that has gone wrong.

So yesterday a CEL came on in the middle of a drive. The car itself, being at 33,500 miles (F55 4-Cyl, 2015) still felt fantastic to drive. Next day comes up and I scan for any codes that it may throw at me and I discover a P0133, "02 Sensor Circuit Slow Response" code. A little bit early for a shot o2 sensor isn't it? I need some advice regarding what to do next and how this should affect my car. How severe is it? Does it need prompt attention? I haven't seen any stalling, loss of power (to my imagination), low mpg, or anything out the ordinary.

Thanks for your time and have a good one, folks.

No unheard of for O2 sensors going bad sooner than later. If it’s just a bad sensor and Car is still under warranty, then it’s all good.

Are you turbocharged?

Depending on what year your car is you may have a software update available for this specific issue. There is a software update that fixes a CEL appearing for o2 sensor issues when there is nothing wrong with the sensors.

Call your dealer
