I ordered the 2 screws (07149197038) to mount the secret compartment but they didn't seem to fit. It wasn't threading in the hole. The hole seemed too big for the screw.

 

Have you tried (could you try?) a #8 x 5/8" screw, like bought from Home Depot or Lowes? If these screws are too small too, it could be that MINI enlarged the hole size, for reasons known only to them.

 

Reviving an old thread. Anyone know if:

- the LHD and the RHD parts are the same
- if the faceplate from the “party” version fits on this? (like the one with the UK flag that changes colours with lighting)

No they are mirror opposites due to the angle in the rear.

The NON faceplates DO NOT work on the hidden box, I had to order one that was meant for the hidden box.

 

Understood, thanks. Would you know if the “party” faceplate is available for the secret compartment, or do you mandatorily lose the lighting?
