Retrofit Roof Rails on F54 Clubman

Hi,
I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me and let me know if I'm doing something wrong here.
I would like to buy an F54 Mini Clubman but I need one with roof rails, but unfortunately the majority seem not to have been ordered with this option.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried to retofit them?
I did exactly this on my old R55 and it turned out to be very simple, I just had to strip back the roof lining, find the mounting holes and drill pilot holes through them using them as guides, then hole-drill from the outside. Somebody (probably on here) had done an excellent walk through of it.
It stands to reason for me that all F54s would have the same brackets with captive nuts for the roof rail mounts from the factory but the last thing I want to do is buy the car and find out theres some reason I can't do it.
Mini apparently produce a retrofit guide for the F55 / F56, but I dont see one for an F54. I tried asking Mini but no answer.
If anyone has tried this, I'd be interested to know about it.
Thanks all.

Rails

I can confirm that there are retrofit for the F55 ( I had it done to my old car and yes the mounting points were all there). I haven’t heard of it being available for the F54 but maybe see if you can get a picture of one with the roof lining out and that might give you a view of the mounting points.

sorry I couldn’t be of any more help

This make me think the rails can be retrofit by the dealer:

I would maybe go to my local dealer and have a conversation with a service advisor.

I had roof rails retrofit onto my F54.

The retrofit instructions are the same as for the F56. You have to pull down the roof liner, and us a drill guide to drill the roof. The guide templates are already built into the roof. The drill guide took ~1-1.5 months for my dealer to get, it was a special order part that BMW/MINI makes on-demand I guess. The dealer actually left the drill guid in my car when I picked it up.

I made the installation a requirement for buying the vehicle, i.e. installation was part of the purchase price, and I had the dealer sign a contract that if they were unable to install the roof rails in a timely manner, they would give me a lot of money back. I figured that having a body shop do the work would cost at least a thousand dollars, probably more, plus parts. My car had been on a dealer lot for ~7-8 months and I think the dealer was just happy to finally have the car off their books.

Anyway it can be done. The DIY isn't terrible, but any competent body shop can follow the directions for the F56 roof rail retrofit and make it work.

To be clear the part I had to wait on forever was 83302455197, the "Template". The roof skin has little aligner-doohickeys that the template fits into, the shop then drilled through the template. This makes the holes for the rails, perfectly aligned. The dealer got all the other parts in for the job in about a week, but couldn't move forward with the install until the template arrived.

Thats awesome you got it to work as I helped with people on the F56 and F55 versions as well as the R60 and R61 conversions. Same thing.
