Can I use OEM '18 Countryman S 19" wheels on '17 Clubman S that has currently has 17"
Hi everyone,
This is my first post on this. Excited about our, new-to-us, '17 Clubman S All4 that is arriving next wk.
My wife doesn't like the black alloy wheels that come with the Clubman S. She likes the silver wheels
I've found some used 2018 Countryman S OEM 19inch silver wheels.
Fitment for 19" Clubman S wheels are: 8Jx19ET45
Fitment for the 17" Clubman S wheels are: 7.5Jx17ET54
Center bore etc are the same
Few quick questions for this learned group:
Can I put the '18 Countryman S OEM 19" wheels on my '17 Clubman that currently has 17inch wheels?
Will there be any rubbing or cause any tire or turning issues?
Will it look funny to have those bigger wheels on the Clubman?
The Clubman could be had with OEM 8x19 +57 wheels and 225/40-19 tires
The Countryman could be had with OEM 8x19 +47 wheels and 225/45-19 tires
With that slight of a difference between the two sizes, I'd give it a go. 10mm offset difference and tires that are slightly taller, on a stock suspension would probably work fine.
So, you think it'll fit OK and not have any issues with the tires rubbing when driving or turning correct?
With the 10mm less ofset of the 19" Clubman wheels, does that make the wheel come in or out of the wheel well compared to the '17 Clubman 17" wheels?(Just wondering how it will look on the car)
With a 19" wheel vs the 17" wheel, will that affect the odometer reading? the fuel consumption reading?
Take all I say with a little bit of salt, since I don't have a 3rd gen Clubman....
Are you planning to stay on stock suspension? If you get the Countryman wheels, I would consider also changing the tires to the Clubman size of 225/35-19. The Countryman tires are going to be about 1" bigger in diameter, which could cause some rubbing at full turn.
The bigger diameter will make the speedo read lower than actual, and cause a drop in fuel mileage. I imagine the 19 inch wheels are also heavier, which will also impact fuel mileage.
The less offset of the Countryman wheels will make them stick out towards the fender more.
Yes they fit. They will poke out a little more, and will finish pretty flush to the arches so
stick with 225 tires and you should be fine. See below. Wouldn’t recommend runflats and 35 profile tires it’s pretty jarring.
Not sure if you were looking at rally spoke oem wheels but this is what they’d look like.
