JCW Take 2

I picked up my 2021 JCW Clubman today, and will be letting go of my 2017 JCW Clubman on Tuesday (Carvana will be taking it away, so if you are interested it should be up there shortly after that!). This is my 5th MINI (04 S with dealer installed JCW, that I should’ve kept, 09 Cooper S Mayfair, bought used and full of Gen 2 problems like oil consumption an check engine lights, 17 F54 JCW Manual, soon to depart my care, and an 06 JCW, I plan to hold and tweak for a long time to come despite a 15 year old cars need to break a few things every year).

This car is Rebel Green with a Black Room and mirrors, Chesterfield Brown leather on the inside - which may of sold me on the car. Michigan weather has been unkind for my delivery as its quite cold and snowed off and on all day. I won’t be able to stretch its legs for a while, which hopefully will encourage me to break it in gently and properly. The all season tires seem adequate for winter weather and I have some PS4S tires on rims from my 17 ready for when the weather really gets nice (seems like June, but first part of May is normally safe). I’ll miss the manual in the 17 but have come to grips that the auto box might be better suited, its certainly faster, if not quite as involving.

Look forward to scanning the forum again with a new perspective.

Its funny, I said goodbye to my 2017 JCW F54 in November and await my 2021 in May. I have not experienced the new engine or even sat in the new model yet...will be curious how your experiences as the weather gets a bit nicer hope you enjoy the ride.

So far its a very enjoyable car. Took my Brother In Law out for a ride today, only using about 50% throttle and its still pretty amusing. It shifts quite quickly but still feels brisk and quick. I still have my 17 and was comparing the under hood of the two and it’s really interesting how much has changed. Extra bracing, additional cooling (more radiators), the windshield washer bottle has moved (might be tricky to refill).

Did you order a 21? I was considering ordering but the 22 model year is starting early, like March production.

I ordered a 2021 in mid-January...I am happy getting the 2021 in the hopes of a better deal versus a 2022 and I am not sure if there are any changes for 2022 (Android Audio would be nice though). I wrote off my 2017 so I can't wait either way...I guess I'll just play Forza or GT in the interim.
