Removing Wireless Charging Apparatus ?

Our custom-ordered 2021 JCW Clubman arrived. We're enjoying it and getting to know it little by little. Not a lot of places we would drive to during Covid, so accumulating break-in miles is taking a while. And the settings' capabilities are enormous but we have some time to dig into them.

When we ordered the car, we would like to have done a 'wireless charging' delete but that was no longer a possibility. Since we won't ever use the charging pad, I would like to combine it's space with the space beneath it (containing the pad's functional bits) to use for other things. Question is: Has anyone safely removed those parts and, hopefully, knows how to go about it without damaging anything?

Thanks in advance.

Oddly you might take a look at instructions for installing the CravenSpeed short shifter.

There is a full teardown of the center console here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post4306441 .

If you're interested to get rid of the charging pad I might know a guy who would buy it (me) ;-). I'm not sure what part numbers correspond to the console tray with or without the charging pad, could be fun to try and figure out.

Thank you for the reply and info. I think it may be a bit daunting for me to try. I'm actually wondering if I might be able to use vise grips on the exposed top part and then try to carefully see what's beneath that.....but that probably isn't a great idea and, obviously, there wouldn't be any useable parts left for you :(
