Flood Damage

I live in PA. On August 13, I got caught in the flash floods near King of Prussia. My f54 was submerged and I got water in the engine. A bit of water got in the car as well but only in the boot and on the passenger side. Unfortunately, the car has not been totaled. Dealer tells me that because the engine turns over that it can be fixed. My concern is trouble down the line.. Insurance company said that if there is a flood related breakdown, they will cover it My concern, is that if it occurs, MINI will say its flood related and Insurance company will say its not, keaving me in a bad situation. Share your thoughts.

Thanks

If you are so concerned about flood damage that you are losing sleep, clean the car really good and sell it. Take whatever loss you get and call it peace of mind.

If if you are not losing sleep over the car, just drive it and enjoy it for a few more years, then sell it when you will no longer take a loss on the depreciation.

The extended warranty seems like a good idea. We have a poster here on NAM who is in your state MiniTobe. He fixes up flood damaged cars. PM him and ask for some advice.
