Alarm question on US based F54

My F54 is on order and I optioned it with the alarm system. From what I understand the alarm system option allows an audible confirmation to be setup when you lock the car.

Anyone in the US have this option and if so is the audible confirmation a horn beep or an electronic chirp/beep?

Always curious about the little things!!!

Yes, we have that option on our U.S. F54. There is a single beep, with simultaneous single flash of the parking lamps on locking, and a double beep with double flash of the parking lamps on unlocking. No horn, but a separate, high-pitched electronic beep. The beep is pretty loud, to my taste, and much louder than I've experienced on my past vehicles (all Japanese).

Hope that helps!

It does thanks! I'm glad it's not a horn beep at least. It's surprising with all the custom functions on the MINI that they don't allow control of the volume for the beep as I've seen in some other car brands.

If you go into settings you can have audible or non audible locking confirmation. I just have the flashing lights. Hate to disturb people. And the red flasher below the rearview mirror is additional confirmation the alarm is armed.

You can also disable the interior motion I think -- and maybe the tilt, not sure.

But if you leave a pet in the car, the alarm may well trigger unless motion is disabled.

Carly is another way to do things with the alarm, as is coding.

As always ALL4 you are a wealth of knowledge

I may have to see what Carly can do as options on the alarm!
