Replacing front passenger CV axle

Just curious if anyone has taken this on. I have a light clicking in the front passenger CV joint, no torn boots or grease slinging that I can locate.

I ordered an aftermarket GSP axle, as OEM is over $1,000. It arrived yesterday but it is not the complete shaft assembly, only the section with both joints, shaft, and tripod joint housing. Can I safely remove this same portion of the axle with a punch or slide hammer and replace onto the inner axle shaft? Or should I just send it back for the full shaft assembly?

If it's too much of a pain to remove, I may just bite the bullet for the OEM axle.

FYI - 2017 Clubman S ALL4, 88k miles

Driver side should be pressure fit with snap ring when its a full kit. Driver side has the carrier mount that holds it and then snap ring also. I used a block of wood and a small pry bar and popped mine out on my R52 and R58.

Which part number from GSP did you order? Should be full axle unless you just ordered the end piece?

Hey ECS, I ordered part no. NCV49011. Came as just the outer shaft for the passenger side, which I did not realize. I may just return it and order the full shaft. If you have one in stock, let me know. I couldn't find it on the site.

NCV49011 shows full axle on the part. Front right - Auto transmission for S and All4. Possible where you ordered sent the wrong part? Dont see it was ordered from us.

Can you post up picture of part?

Ahh glad to see you have it. It may be possible they sent the wrong part. Here is what I received...

It might work but I am hesitant about knocking the joint assembly off of its drive shaft when I can just replace the whole thing for not much more money. So, I'll return it and order from your link. How's the feedback on the GSP axles?

Thanks for your help BTW.

Good feedback on GSP. First time i have seen issues. We are direct so i can talk to them about part mix ups. Can you show me that end that goes to the transmission?

I think this is a part mix up issue. If you order from us i think they might send the same thing until stock is fixed. This is a newer part to their system.
