European cousin (Peugeot 207 1.6Turbo)

Hey guys,

I am the owner of a Peugeot 207 1.6T and have joined the forum because I like your ideas and exchange of information.
Are your European/French cousins (Peugeot/Citroen 1.6T) welcome?

Welcome to NAM. How has your experience been with the engine and timing chain so far? Did the Peugeot version get the same improvements for this year as the MINI version?

I was a few of the lucky ones who had their whole timing set and chain replaced under warranty within the first 30.000kms.

I recently changed the hydraulic chain tensioner, water pump and a few other things just to feel comfortable with the engine.

Turns out there were so many timing problems on early 207 1.6T that really had a price on Peugeot's reliability.
Contrary to BMW, PSA were not very keen on issuing a recall or anything like that, they only changed parts on engines malfunctioning and waited until most cars were out of warranty.
