Yet another Bluetooth question...

MINI Production date: 10/20/06

Packages: Premium, Sport, Cold Weather & Convenience

I don't have HK audio.

All of my cellphones feature Bluetooth technology.

What do I specifically need to buy in order to:
  1. Use any of my cellphones in my MINI?
  2. Have the stereo automatically mute?
Also, if (since) it's possible to have the stereo automatically mute when using Bluetooth, is it possible to mute the stereo via the MSFW? If so, how?

My interest in using Bluetooth in my MINI has reawakened after reading Mike's post in the Vendor thread....

All advice/guidance is greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to Mike's post here?:

If so, that's pretty much the best way to achieve what you want. There are other aftermarket solutions, but none that will work with the MFSW. This will also plug right into the harness, so you don't have to cut any of the stock wiring.

I've just ordered the kit myself and look forward to installing it. Now is the time to buy as it's about $30 cheaper right now using today's currency exchange rates.

If you have NAV, then EAS also has a great solution that will display call info on the NAV screen.
