How to install factory fog lights

Hi there y'all!
Oh boy, another newbie! Please forgive my naivety...blah, blah, blah.
I have searched as many threads as I can before my eyes started watering and I have not yet come across any instructions to install factory fogs in my 05' MCS (built 12/04). Of course, there are the Mini official instructions, but I understand that they exclude some important info and I don't want to try to figure it out and then find that I was way off when I go to get it programmed at the dealership. Can anyone give me a hint on where to find some instructions (you know, with real pictures and not drawings)? Also, I read somewhere that Hella Micro DE fog lights would fit the existing holes in the bumper. Anyone tried these? I know its a big project to take on, but I'm not really keen on forking over $1000 to my dealership to have them installed. After this, I want to add an alarm. This mod stuff is addictive!
Help a sista out, people!

Install help

It is a pretty difficult install. And you are right about the nervousness on the coding business. It took me several hours to install. The instructions are pretty good but I did have to bridge some wires on the toggle panel because the receiving pin was already occupied. If you are not handy pay the extra and go to the dealer. If not i found these instructions to be a little more clear than the ones I got from the dealer.

Good Luck

I also found it a difficult installation. You need to feel confident about improvising when things don't go exactly right. My lights wouldn't mount on the holes and hardware the way it was described in the instructions, my harness fell a few inches short of reaching the BC1 (I spliced in an extension), and I had a really difficult time opening up the bottom of the fuse box. In addition to doing the fog installation itself, I was learning for the first time how to run something through the firewall, and how to remove and reinstall the wheel liners, glovebox, and trim kick panel.

This is a project that doesn't need to be done all at once, and could be broken up into many steps. I did mine in several 1-2 hour sessions spread over several weekends. If you decide to go ahead with it, feel free to ask questions along the way.

Thanks guys! I'm not sure if my car is prewired or not...never really able to find an answer on that. The guy at Classic said it was just a matter of mounting the fogs behind the bumper and plugging them in (after he looked up my VIN #). So I'm hoping for the best. I just like to be prepared for the worst before I dig in. Hey, if I have to leave the Mini in the yard for a few days, I can always ride the Ducati!

No prewire on the front fogs but from 2005 and up (I think that's right) the rear fog wiring is already there. If you have a black plug in the hole for that light, pop it out and the wires are taped up out of the way in there.
