ElectricalFor discussions regarding wiring up electrical modifications such as radar detectors, brake light mods, power sockets, and driving lights in Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
Note that when you hit the high beams, the fogs and the associated light on the toggles goes out. I assume that all happens in the BC1. Would that affect the wiring scheme?
That actually would - thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't noticed on my car that the fogs go out when the high-beams come on. I'll investigate a little further, but that will certainly complicate things a little bit.

Didn't realize that occurred I'd rather they stayed on. Looks like I will be rethinking my idea unless smart electrical minds jump in.
I had my fog lights wired to a switch today. I now have a switch for my driving lights and another switch for my fog lights. I need only to have the ignition on to use them - independently or together, with or without the regular headlamps. They are wired just to their own switches.
Did the std wiring and decided to use the std PIAA switch and did this quickie install using 3M tape. Not bad, not great but it fills that dead space (always bothered me) and its convinient.
