YD on another electrical mission

This maybe should be in the NAV thread, but here goes anyway.

My next project will be to connect my cell phone up to the car so that the sound of the phone will play through the aux input of the radio and I will speak through the roof mounted microphone.

I have accomplished the car radio speaker part. Now to make the microphone work. I now know which wires come out of the cell phone output that are the microphone leads.

My question to all of you electrical ghrus is:

Does anyone have an electrical diagram (06 MCS) showing where the wires from the stock roof microphone go, as in somewhere under the dash. Wire colors, plugs, locations anything would be wonderful.

I'm convinced I can make this work for only a couple of dollars. Once successful, I will gladly share my design and wiring diagrams.

thanks,

YD

unless you have the bluetooth phone connection, i don't think the mini has the mic in the roof.

plus unless you have noise cancellation software, that mic
is going to pickup everything you hear in the car... like road noise.
i doubt it's a multi array acoustic cancellation setup.

it's not a simple just hook up a mic and it will work kind of deal.

Thanks guys, I just pulled the plastic parts down and there is not any microphone installed. So now my quest is to find a microphone.

I know that while driving, I can put my cell phone on the passenger seat and I can be heard OK. But in that scenario, even on speakerphone, I can't hear them. I'm still playing with the possibilities but thanks for your help.

Perhaps there is an appropriate microphone out there that may work. I guess the fun is in the hunting and experimention.
