Electrical Do I have heated mirrors?
Do I have heated mirrors?
What are the features that comes with the Cold Weather Pkg on a '04 MCS?
I know I have heated seats.
Does it come with heated mirrors? And if so, how can you tell, besides the obvious while in cold weather?
Is there a switch of some type?
My owners manual does not talk about heated mirrors, so I'm figuring I don't have them.

Pre'07 MINIs cold weather package is a threebie of seats, washer jets and mirrors. Except the GP, which has heated seats and that's it.
I think the '07 MINIs don't offer heated mirrors for some reason - but I can be wrong

Well by golly you're right GB. I went & pulled out my 05 Mini's window sticker & it shows heated mirrors. Hmmm I wonder what makes them come on? The defroster MBE
cause there's no control for them otherwise

I just had heated washer jets retrofitted to GPMINI - they simple connect to key switched 12V; presumably they are self heating with some sort of temperature regulation built in, and I'd guess the heated mirrors are the same type of technology
I have an 04 with the CW package and it definitely has heated mirrors. They are just hooked to the switched 12v power and are on all the time, even if it is 90 degrees outside. You can reach out and feel it.
The benefit of this is no need to think about turning them on and they work when there is condensation on them when it is in the 40's-50s as well as on frost. I would feel a littel better if they did not run all the time, but I suppose if they thought it would cause them to burn out, they would have devised a switch or tied it to teh temperature sensor or something.

Was this a DYI?
It could have been a DIY, but I had the dealership do it. However today with 18 degrees, there was no water :(
