Bought a second hand UNICHIP from NAM last week, arrived yesterday from UPS. Then I installed it ASAP even tho the map is not programed for my car (Alta CAI, Milltek Header, Milltek Exhaust). THe map is for CAI+15%+exhaust atm, no problem I thought, I just installed it and left both switches in "0" so it's running my stock map. Wrong.

Yesterday night, I was merging into an empty highway, WOT at 2nd gear, right when I hit 6000rpm. The car went into limp mode... pulled over... restarted the car and all seems fine. As a safety precaution I was going to bring it to the autoshop, but the check engine light wasn't on so I thought it was ok.

Tonight, I was doing a WOT at 1st gear, around 5500rpm, I saw the DSC light come on and then the car went into limp mode again...

I am going to take out the UNICHIP as we speak, and will testdrive it tmmw to see if my car will go into limp mode at WOT...

Have anyone ever experienced this? I am really confused... I am just running the UNICHIP without any map, so technically there shouldn't be a problem.

 

I had my dealer re-install my UniChip without disconnecting the battery and this happened and threw SES and DSC lights. One switch is for Octane level and the other is supposed to be for a IC sprayer. I have both on O and don't have problems. I disconnected the chip, drove the car for about a day on OEM and re-installed the UniChip and had no problems. Hope this helps.

 

omg I am such an idiot! I thought one switch was for A-B map, and the other was for UNICHIP on/off... I am so stupid I am gonna go swear at myself with the mirror...
