Electrical MFSW Button swap
MFSW Button swap
Ok, I have a good question. Can you swap the audio and the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel? When I am driving I don't use the cruise control all the time but when I do I would like the controls on the left like my other cars. I don't really change the track on the iPod that often so this would be good for me.
Let me know what you all think.

I agree, I have changed the track when I meant to turn up the volume! If I can swap them I am sure that this can be corrected too.
Oh, and I want to use the un-used BT buttons to control the on-board computer button! I hate having to reach for it!

Yes and no...
(This is known to apply to the 2-spoke, I think it MAY apply to the 3-spoke as well)....
The RH button block can be considered simply as basic switches. They connect to the LH block with a 9-conductor cable & connectors. It would be possible to re-arrange the pins in the RH block connector to change which buttons from that block signal the LH block.
The LH block, however, is a completely different animal. All of the buttons in the block are connected to a rather complicated looking circuit board. I assume the function of that circuit is to read BOTH button block signals & encode them to I-bus signals to send to the computer. I didn't even THINK about trying to hack that thing.
So, you could decide to rearrange the RH buttons easy, but not the LH buttons.. that might end up more confusing than the original layout.
The RH connector block is connected like this:
The connector numbers are on the block, but "1" is the orange wire
1 - horn
2 - horn
3 - common connector
4 - "-" cruise button
5 - "+" cruise button
6 - rear "center" button
7 - rear "bottom" button
8 - rear "top" button
9 - to lighting LEDs
Hope that helps you decide if you want to try anything to fit your needs
