xenon headlights?

New to the site, so I am not sure if this is in the right place, but....

Does anyone know if it is possible to fully replace the stock halogen headlights with xenon units? We have an 04 cooper s and it has everything we want except the xenon lights. When I asked the parts dept at the dealer, he said that we would have to replace the whole wireing harness?

Anyone with experience in this? If it isn't possible, is there any replacement bulbs for the stock lights that will make them legally brighter?

Thanks

There is a VERY EXPENSIVE retrofit kit avaliable from the dealer, over 1900 bucks if i remember correctly.

Everything including the BC! has to be replaced, that means all of the headlight wiring needs replaced. You also have to put on and wire in the leveling sensors on both the front and rear.

You cannot just drop in a set of xenon lights and have them work correctly.

Possible YES; practical NO. But if you have the money seems anything is possible these days.

I say get a set of driving lights (the ones that go on the grill) if you want more light. You can get a set of PIAA or the like for a couple hundred or the dealer ones (normally like $500 installed).
