Tail light connectors - Where to get them?

I have seen the Official PDF instructions for the 2005 tail light retrofit kit on Motoringfile.com See here - http://www.motoringfile.com/files/2005_taillights.pdf

But, does anyone know where one could get just the connectors? I have another idea I want to work on and would love to know how to get the connectors if possible.

I am trying to make an adapter to patch in trailer light and a plug. Using the connectors from the retrofit kit (the kit to fit 05 lights on earlier models) and my own wiring to a Drawtite powered modulite unit, I could make make this adapter, using the signals from the lights for the modulite. This would allow for a clean adapter with no splicing or cutting and could easily be removed if need be.

yeah, ive heard of lots of problems when people tap into the factory stuff for a trailer harness.

besides, the retrofit kit for an 05 changes the wiring configuration from one end to the other.

it wont work correctly on an 05, it will make 05 tail lights act like 04 tail lights.

tail lightwire access

Here is how I did mine:

http://user.mc.net/~jdewey/MINI/Trai...MINI_wires.jpg

It is described at the end of this file:

http://user.mc.net/~jdewey/MINI/Trai...r_Hitches.html

To make the connection I did not cut, strip, or tap the MINI wires. I unplugged the MINI connector
from the taillights. I then carefully unsnapped the plug cover, and used a knife to release the barb
(twice on each terminal) and pull the wire out of the plug. Then I stripped the module wire and
wrapped it around the terminal several times, and reinserted the terminal into the plug, replaced
cover, and reconnected the MINI lights. If you ever need to remove it there will be no "evidence".
See the photo named "Mini_wires".

COLOR CODE for a 2004 is here.

http://user.mc.net/~jdewey/MINI/Trai...olor_codes.htm

It has been in place for about 18 months now and is still working fine.
