Good after market alarm.

What's a good alarm to have. My mini has been molested twice now and I want to do something to stop that.

I put in an Audiovoxx alarm for $35 bought at my local autozone...senses voltage drop if a light comes on if a door/hood is open...and senses vibration and has 8 sensitivities....the only downside is that I have an extra fob on my keychain.....they've several models tho, but the one I bought mounted neatly beneath the hood(bonnet) drilled into the firewall ....wiring was basically nothing to do

Compustar is currently considered one of the top rated systems right now (over 1 mile coverage, you get alerted via the remote lcd on your keychain, on top of being able to start your car from the same distance). If you want a few other respectable alarms, Directed Electronics and their stable of alarm brands (including the Viper Line), are also a good way to go.

I can tell you from experience that thus far, the Compustar I've had installed has been well worth it.

Considering your recent misfortune with the break in (loss of ipod, etc), going top of the line in this area should be worth the peace of mind.

Best of luck!

What do you want the alarm to do? Motion detector? Tilt sensor? Audible alarm? Send signal to remote?

Unfortunately alarms don't to much to stop the vandalism type of molestation. Give a little more info (i.e. exactly what you're trying to stop) and it will be easier for people to help.

Liz,
I don't know much about Alarms and or Audio systems but I do know know one of the BEST installers in the USA! You need to see or call "Concept Works" in Mesa AZ. His name is Bryan Cline sole owner and installer / fabricator. He is the best when it comes to quality work and is very very honest! You need to see some of his work! I had him install my alarms and stereos on my autos. I will be driving from Alb, NM to have him install the alarm in my wifes new 06 MCS when we get it at the end of Jan. 06. As you can tell I think he walks on water when it comes to mobile audio. His phone # is (602) 363-2709 address 1045 W. Broadway suite #7 Mesa AZ. 85210

Best of Luck!

Anything that will make a red LED blink inside your car and won't go off all the time and wake the neighbors is all you really need. . .

For $7, you can get this!

Edit: This looks even better
