Ipod Interface upgrade question please help

Hello All,

My 05' r52 had an old ipod interface installed before I owned it. I purchased the new style for the lightning cable that plugs into the back of the radio. I hooked it up, one issue: The sound coming from the right side of the car is barely noticeable. left side works fine. I took the big interface box out and left all the wires the same except used the new 12 pin. Do you have to completely redo the wiring from the old interface to use the new aux cable properly or do I just have a bad cable? thanks for any input motor on

Sounds like a connector issue. Is it still apart? Can you get back to your old setup and see if it works properly?
FWIW: I had multiple failed attempts to get out of the old ipod iterface installed at delivery, and use my iphone (with lightning cable) as the input media.
I too removed the big interface box however, I the bought a $13 10pin connector that plugged into the head unit (non HK) to 3.5mm socket.
Here'se the part: BMW AUX Cable E46 98-06 REPLACE CD CHANGER 3.5mm Female Socket OEM Style
