Countryman HID Retrofit (Non OEM)

Hey guys,

I'm currently contemplating swapping in a set of HIDs to my Countryman without buying the expensive 25w dealer kit (almost $1200 out the door). My current options are:

-Buy a set of used OEM xenon housings. Would run about $500-$600 on eBay. Buy a quality xenon bulb/ballast/igniter/harness kit for about $250. Total setup would run around $800

-Buy a projector kit from theretrofitsource.com. I have some options here but the kit I'm looking at is about $400. This would be a completely custom job as I would have to open up my stock housings to fit the projectors. It would look completely unique though.

My first question is: if I buy a set of stock xenon housing, will the power washers work if I plumb them properly, or are there some electronics involved that I would have to look at coding properly?

you would need to retrofit the proper pump and all the wiring to make it work, then code the ECU to detect it.

None of the plumbing or even the spare nozzle on the pump is there.

Thanks for the response. I wasn't sure if the headlights were plumbed separately off the washer reservoir or tied into the existing tubing for the windshield sprayers.

I purchased a pair of headlights today to start the swap, I will be updating my results as the project continues.
