Well, my 2007 was too old for the OEM retrofit they released and the price of these housings and the HID kit was less than the programming alone probably would have cost me. I'm 95% sure that both versions use the same projector housing. Aside from probably needing to program out the bulb checks on start, this setup throws no codes or errors and maintains the factory highbeam functionality.
My is an 08 r56 with factory halogens and also was too old for the OEM retrofit they released but i know there is people around here on NAM that have the retrofit kit on models 07/08 but for me it is too pricey to have it. I refuse to pay $900+ on the HL, plus the programming on that retrofit.
Well, if you've got a dremel and a socket set this combo should work well. I got the ddm canbus h9 set for bulbs, not sure if the canbus version was needed, but better safe than sorry.

Canbus is only needed when you aren't planning on programming out the bulb out warnings our the bulb checks.
