Cruise control

Before you say blah blah. Not worth it, too hard, don't need it.

I need it, I want it, I understand it is a pile of work. That's fine.

2006 jcw 6 speed.
I have the mfsw buttons and correct clock spring installed.

My mini is not pre wired. I have spent the last few weeks searching and reading.
Most threads are old and do not give any specifics.

Has anyone actually done this and what did they use for a harness.
Where exactly do they run the new wires to.

I wish it was easier than it is,I can't believe it was an option on these cars. When I bought my car I just assumed it had cruise until I realized it didn't.

Oh it can be done. We used a brand new retrofit harness and it will take you several hours to do. It takes too many wires and connectors to consider trying to make a harness for it.

It shouldn't take several hours.
Speedo, clutch, dr and pass kick and ecm.
Already did the buttons and clock spring. That was a whole 20 mins.

I did it and made my own wiring from an old IP harness.
Follow the wiring diagram in the instructions.
http://www.minipeople.lt/failai/db/2...ring_wheel.pdf
Its 7 or 8 wires.
Most difficult bit was drilling out the Engine ECU connector to add the connectors into it.

Cheers

Chris
