Is it possible to upgrade to the flip style key? I know you can do it with the early R50/52/53 keys but for those of us with the 3 button key ... it seems like it's impossible. Anyone do this with success?

 

eBay seller "artiway" offers a complete new key that is a three button flip style but you would need to cut the blade, code the EWS chip and program the remote. There are also flip style cases for the almost identical BMW three button keys but they have BMW logos on them.

So in short, there is no simple solution for these keys. I'm very surprised about this- I've seen this question quite a few times. My Chinese supplier is out for a month of so due to the Chinese new year, but I'm going to suggest that they look into creating such a product because there is a demand. I don't work with the '05-'06 keys but I'm sure somebody will specialize in converting these keys.
